Compliance Assistant - Legal Monday - Friday - Core office hoursBirmingham (Hybrid 2 days at home per week) £30,000Permanent Outsource UK is recruiting a SRA Compliance Senior Assistant to join a high-performing finance team within a leading national law firm. This role will provide senior assistant support to help ensure compliance with Solicitor Regulation Authority Accounts Rules (SRA AR) and wider regulatory, policy and procedural requirements. You will work closely with compliance, finance operations and fee-earning teams while acting as a key point of contact for regulatory and compliance queries.Key Responsibilities
- Support monitoring of compliance with SRA Accounts Rules and internal procedures, including identifying, investigating and assessing potential breaches while maintaining registers and reporting
- Produce monthly and ad-hoc compliance reports and act as a key support contact across business services and national support teams
- Review financial matters to identify residual balances, dormant matters and client account issues, supporting remediation activity and ensuring accurate documentation
- Assist with designated deposit accounts, interest calculations and management of balances requiring charitable donation
- Provide audit and regulatory support, including annual SRA audit and file reviews, preparation of regulatory forms and follow-up on non-compliance
- Stay up to date with regulatory developments and undertake ad-hoc research to support ongoing compliance improvements
- A-level / degree (or equivalent) with strong English and Maths GCSE results
- Experience within a professional services or legal environment desirable
- Knowledge of MS Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
- Familiarity with practice management systems (e.g. 3E or similar) advantageous
- Comfortable using case management and database platforms (e.g. iManage or equivalents)
- Strong communication skills with confidence engaging senior stakeholders
