Hours: 37 - full time

Responsibilities

Stoke on Trent City Council Commissioning team are looking for a Senior Commissioning and Contracting Officer to join their children's Commission team.

To develop commissioning and contract standards and frameworks, manage and implement a range of commissioning strategies, policies and plans on specific service areas.

Key duties:

  • To lead the development of team practice to manage and implement a range of commissioning strategies, policies and plans on specific service areas to ensure best commissioning practice, behaviours and competencies are applied and deliver the agreed outcomes and targets across the full commissioning cycle.
  • Robust needs assessment of systemic coproduced service review and redesign
  • Benefits realisation, business cases, performance management and evaluation
  • Commercialisation and routes to market, including procurement
  • Contract/SLA specification and management
  • Service/Provider stability and improvement
  • To fulfil national strategy and guidance and statutory responsibilities in relation to the specific commissioned service, this includes working with joint funders and key stakeholders
  • To lead, support and co-ordinate programmes of work including multi- agency partnerships and task and finish groups, on behalf of the wider team, to ensure strategic and operational objectives are delivered
  • To undertake necessary work to influence, shape and lead policy areas alongside decision makers and resource holders in order to commit resources to new and innovative partnership projects including new income generation activities to support new approaches
  • To be an effective member of the team, line manage members of staff and be prepared and able to support and cover during absences.
