Lawler Group is expanding its commercial team and we are seeking a senior, technically strong commercial salesperson who can operate across our Consulting and Sustainability practices, work peer-to-peer with engineers and business unit Leads and help shape the next phase of our three-year growth ambition.
This is not a traditional sales role. It is a commercial growth role, combining technical insight, opportunity creation, quality pipeline management, and strategic revenue guidance for senior leadership
What You Will Own- Drive the Group's Commercial Growth Plan: You will take direct ownership of a monthly growth target, contributing to the organisation's three-year revenue ambition. You'll identify, shape, and influence the kind of work that best drives sustainable, profitable growth.
- Integrate Opportunities Across Business Units: You will uncover and develop opportunities that flow between Consulting, Sustainability, and Engineering teams, acting as the commercial link that builds an
integrated growth engine. - Protect Commercial Quality & Profitability: You'll qualify opportunities rigorously, ensuring early commercial fit, resource viability, profitability, and alignment with our strategic targeting.
- Pipeline, Forecasting & Revenue Stability: You will own pipeline quality, forecasting accuracy, opportunity risk, and the forward 12+ month revenue book-providing confidence and visibility to the CFO and senior leadership team.
- Build and maintain a high-quality pipeline with the right mix of timing, value, and strategic account focus. Target account selection will be a core expectation.
- Execute outbound prospecting and value-based outreach that consistently generates commercially strong opportunities.
- Conduct high-quality technical discovery, diagnosing customer needs and aligning complex engineering or sustainability challenges with Lawler's capabilities.
- Run a consultative, advisory-led sales process that positions you as a trusted guide to CEOs, CFOs, and technical leadership teams.
- Collaborate closely with engineers, consultants, and sustainability specialists, ensuring each opportunity is properly shaped, scoped, and resourced.
- Act as a commercial advisor at leadership level, contributing to strategic targeting, High Potential Account decisions, and future resource planning.
- Maintain accurate reporting and CRM hygiene, supporting the company's forecasting culture and growth analytics.
- Your pipeline reliably delivers your growth target each month.
- A strong 12+ month forward revenue book is maintained.
- The organisation sees improved cross-unit commercial coordination.
- Senior leadership receives confidence, clarity, and stability in revenue outlook.
- You become a trusted technical-commercial advisor to both prospects and internal team
- A strong technical or engineering background (mechanical, energy, or related fields).
- Experience selling in environments where technical colleagues influence the customer solution.
- Excellent discovery, diagnostic, and high-quality dialogue skills; you can simplify the complex and
communicate confidently at CEO/CFO level. - Demonstrated ability to manage strategic opportunities, shape business cases, and work across multidisciplinary teams.
- Strength in forecasting, pipeline management, and commercial judgement; you have operated in roles
where profitability, fit, and stability mattered as much as closing deals. - Comfort operating at a peer level with business unit heads; you are commercially credible, structured,
and advisory in your style.
This position is a key pillar in building a scalable, predictable, commercially strong Lawler Group. You will operate at the intersection of engineering expertise, sustainability leadership, and commercial strategy; helping shape not just deals but the future commercial direction of the business.
