We have a current opportunity for a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer - Azure (m/f/d) on a contract basis for one of our clients in Basel.

Collaborate as a member of a team of senior engineers and architects. In this role, the main responsibilities will involve implementing, maintaining, and supporting enterprise-class software and services within a hybrid enterprise, with a particular emphasis on Azure Cloud and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

An experienced professional with deep expertise in Azure Cloud, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and a strong background in implementing, maintaining, and supporting enterprise-class software and services.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

Include supporting the client in implementing enterprise infrastructure solutions in the public cloud, using SaaS, IaaS and PaaS services. Be responsible to contribute to the definition of and deliver services to support various automation and transformation initiatives across a diverse technology stack, with a focus on Microsoft Azure:
Develop and deploy scalable, available, fault-tolerant, and reliable services on the Cloud using Azure DevOps, GitHub Enterprise, and Terraform.
Supporting business unit efforts to replace manual effort with Infrastructure-as-Code.
Guide business units interested in cloud adoption on best practices and navigating the various security policies implemented by the client.
Implement and maintain core Azure landing zone infrastructure services including but not limited to virtual networks, storage, function apps, service bus, DNS, VPN, Firewall etc.
Apply Agile and DevOps practices within Infrastructure and Operations.

Must haves:
5+ years hands on experience in implementing Azure infrastructure for enterprise customers.
Experience with Infrastructure and Configuration as Code using relevant tools and techniques (Terraform, GitHub actions). (*)
Experience implementing high levels of security in the Cloud using private end point and Azure policies. (*)
Experience with code management solutions, in particular GIT, build pipeline and CI/CD tools, including integrating their use in common infrastructure management and deployment tasks. (*)
Experience deploying core Azure cloud technologies, including Networking, Azure Firewall, Azure VPN, and other Azure IaaS, and PaaS services. (*)
Knowledge of Identity and Authentication, including Entra ID and Federation, OAuth and OpenID. (*)
Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision and take ownership when achieving assigned objectives. (*)

Demonstrated ability to learn and adopt emerging cloud trends and technologies, across vendors.

Very good command of English and of one other of the Swiss working languages would be an advantage (German, French, Italian, Spanish).
