Job Description

Band 8A Senior Pharmacist - Clinical Trials

Mat Leave Cover - Fixed Term Contract - 27.75 hours/week

This is an excellent development opportunity for a pharmacist to work within the adult clinical trials service within NHS GGC. Based across the North Sector at both Glasgow Royal Infirmary and Gartnavel General Hospital in Glasgow, you will provide pharmacist support within the clinical trials team. Travel across sites may be required to provide services to some of the portfolio at outlying hospitals on occasion.

NHS GGC conduct a varied range of commercial and non commercial adult clinical trials ranging from Phase I to Phase IV (post marketing), including all therapeutic areas. The clinical trials are conducted in various areas within the hospital including wards, clinics and within the Clinical Research Facilities based at QEUH. Pharmacy has strong working relationships with the Research and Innovation Department, with NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde being sponsor for a number of clinical trials. The major component of this role is to provide input to the set up and conduct of clinical trials to researchers and other pharmacy staff.

A keen interest in research is desirable.

The post is offered on a 1 year fixed term basis to cover maternity leave within the team. Secondment requests will be considered.
