Salary: £58,131 to £61,445 per annum (For thepart time position this equates to £46,504 to £49,156 per annum pro rata)
Contract Type: Permanent
Working Pattern: 1 xFull time 37 hours perweek, 1 x Part time 29.6 hours per week, Monday - Friday and for the part time role days areflexible except Wednesdays as this is team meeting day.

Following the transfer in of ourspecialist psychological services into West Sussex County Council, we are at anexciting point in the process and are looking to recruit two permanent SeniorClinical Psychologists to the Consultation Assessment &Treatment Service (CATS) within the Community Psychological Service.
CATS is a Psychology led service whichis embedded within West Sussex Children's Social Care. The service provides arange of specialist psychological assessments and therapeutic interventionswith children, young people and their families/carers where concerns have beenraised about the child engaging in harmful sexual behaviour (HSB). It is anexciting time to join the service as we are widening our service offer within Children'sSocial Care and the successful candidates will be part of this servicedevelopment.
Main duties of the jobIn this role,you will have post qualification experience in undertaking evidence based psychologicalassessments and interventions with children and families. In addition, you willhave expertise in trauma-informed practices and relational approaches.
Asa senior psychologist in the team the role will involve clinically supportingother staff and taking on some supervision and leadership responsibilities.There will also be opportunities to be involved in service development andtraining delivery.
Thepost holders will receive a comprehensive induction which will includeopportunities to shadow and to co-work. The successful candidate/s will alsoreceive a range of in-house specialist training in addition to externaltraining in the AIM 3 assessment model.
Thepost holders will receive regular clinical supervision from the CATS clinicallead (Principal Clinical Psychologist), in addition to ongoing opportunitiesfor co-working and taking part in regular team case discussions. The team hasclose links to the University of Surrey Clinical Psychology Doctoral programmeand regularly provides placements to trainees.
Thepost holders will join a well-established and valued team who are passionateabout the service and the work that we undertake.
You will needto be able to travel independently around the county, including to areas thatmay not be easily accessible by public transport. Pool cars and pool bikes areavailable and having a driving license is highly desirable.

The Community Psychological Serviceworks primarily with children and families when children are open to ChildrensSocial Care on child in need and child protection plans, this work also attimes extends to children who are in care. CATS sits within the CommunityPsychological Service.

Job responsibilitiesJust some of the keyskills and experience you will need to be successful in the role include:
- ProfessionalDoctorate level training in Clinical Psychology and be registered as aPractitioner Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council(HCPC).
- Excellentcommunication skills enabling presentation of information in an accessible wayto the various stakeholders you will work with.
- Significantexperience of working as a qualified clinical psychologist with children, youngpeople, and their families and knowledge of legislation in relation to theclient group.
- Clinical expertisein delivering psychological assessment and therapy with children and young people presenting with a range of complex psychological problems and who may be mistrustful of services, alongside support to their families and other care providers.
- Skills in clinicalsupervision and providing consultation to other professionals and be able toevidence continuing professional development.
- Designing anddelivering accessible and engaging psychological training to differentaudiences, to inform and improve the practice across services.

Person Specification Qualifications- Professional Doctorate level training in Clinical Psychology, including highly developed knowledge of the theory and practice of specialised psychological practice, lifespan developmental psychology, clinical psychometrics, and neuropsychology.
- Registered as a Practitioner Psychologist with the Health Care Professional Council.
- Experience of working as a qualified clinical psychologist taking full clinical responsibility for your own practice, including post qualification experience working with Children and families with complex needs using complex methods of psychological assessment, psychological formulation, and delivering psychological therapy to children and young people.
- Evidence of continuing professional development.
- Experience of identifying and addressing barriers to inclusion and of challenging oppressive or disrespectful practices
