Job Description
Senior Civil CAD Technician 
Location: Kildare
Experience: 5 to 10 Years in an Irish Consultancy
Package: Up to €60,000 (DOE)
Role OverviewAs a Senior CAD Technician, you will be a lead technical figure in the delivery of civil engineering design packages for major Irish developments. You will work closely with design engineers to translate concepts into high-quality planning, tender, and construction drawings.
Key Responsibilities- Planning & Technical Drawing: Prepare comprehensive planning drawing sets and "as-built" documentation for large-scale residential and commercial projects.
- Infrastructure Design: Develop detailed road layouts, including site levels and vehicle tracking analysis.
- Water & Drainage Services: Design and detail foul and surface water drainage systems, including watermains.
- SuDS Integration: Implement Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SuDS) details such as swales, attenuation tanks, and bioretention areas in line with Kildare County Council's SuDS Design Guide and the CIRIA SuDS Manual (C753).
- Coordination: Manage incoming project information and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure designs comply with Irish building regulations and the Greater Dublin Regional Code of Practice for Drainage Works.
- Experience: Approximately 5 to 10 years of experience in a similar CAD Technician role within an Irish engineering consultancy.
- Local Knowledge: Proven experience with the Irish planning process and technical standards for large-scale residential/commercial developments.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in AutoCAD (2D/3D). Proficiency in Civil 3D or Revit is highly advantageous for surface modeling and drainage network coordination.
- Standards: Solid understanding of Irish Design Standards, Eurocodes, and Part H of the Building Regulations.
- Competitive salary from €50,000 to €60,000 based on experience.
