We are seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join a growing team in Cardiff. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established and respected civil and structural engineering consultancy delivering a wide range of infrastructure projects across the UK.

The successful candidate will play a key role in the design and delivery of highways and drainage projects, working alongside a multidisciplinary team on schemes that support residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments.

The Role

The Role of Senior Civil Engineer;

As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will lead the design and coordination of highways and drainage infrastructure, supporting projects from initial concept through to construction. You will also contribute to mentoring junior engineers and help drive technical excellence within the team.

Responsibilities

• Design of highways infrastructure in accordance with Section 38, Section 278, and adoptable standards
• Preparation of drainage strategies and detailed drainage designs, including surface water and foul networks
• Use of industry software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroDrainage/InfoDrainage
• Liaison with local authorities, clients, architects, and other stakeholders
• Preparation of technical reports, design calculations, and project documentation
• Support and mentor junior members of the team
• Assist in project management and delivery to programme and budget

About You

• Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
• Working towards or already Chartered (ICE) status
• Strong experience in highways and drainage design for development infrastructure
• Good understanding of UK design standards and approval processes
• Experience working within a consultancy environment
• Strong communication and organisational skills

Location
