Working with a key BakerHicks client in the chemical sector, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team of engineers and designers to deliver new chemical production facilities.
The end client site is located in Europe; however, the design team is based in the UK, primarily in Manchester.
This full-time contract (initially 3 months, with potential extension) offers flexible working with at least one day per week in our Salford Quays office.
The ProjectThe project is in the FEED (Front-End Engineering Design) phase, focusing on batch chemical processing. It is a small-scale project, where you will work alongside another process engineer to deliver the FEED package, including developing P&IDs, heat and mass balances, project schedules, and equipment datasheets.
As the Senior Process Engineer, you will progress the design from the concept to detailed FEED deliverables, supported by our experienced process team for guidance.
Key Purpose- Develop process engineering deliverables for the FEED phase
- Support team members, including junior engineers, through meetings, input on project schedules, and technical queries
- Produce design outputs such as calculations, specifications, reports, site surveys, and client liaison, ensuring progress aligns with the project brief
- Review colleagues' deliverables for quality and compliance
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary design team members
- Assist in preparing enquiry plans, fee estimates, scopes of work, and change controls
- Degree in Chemical Engineering
- Experience in chemical or related sectors' design and engineering
- Proficiency in Process Flow Diagrams, P&ID's, equipment datasheets, and specifications
- Experience with process calculations such as pressure drop, pump sizing, control valve sizing, heat transfer, and mass balances
