Pay Rate: £382.30 per day PAYE

Hours per week: 37 Monday - Friday, normal working hours

This opening assignment is for 3 months

Hybrid - 3 days per week on-site

Summary of what the candidate must have to apply
  • Strong public sector procurement background, specifically within Local Authorities
  • Experience in Adults and Children's Social Care procurement
  • Proven ability to run end to end procurement activity, including tenders, mini competitions, and work via frameworks
  • Track record of delivering savings, efficiencies and best value
  • Confident managing contract records and digital documentation
  • Able to work in a hybrid arrangement with regular on-site presence
The role

You will lead procurement activity across People Services, ensuring compliant, efficient and value focused procurement delivery. The post supports the council in achieving savings, maintaining an accurate contract register, and ensuring all procurement activity is planned and delivered in line with strategic priorities.

Key accountabilities
  • Deliver procurement operations, including full tender processes and mini competitions via frameworks
  • Ensure contract awards are recorded and stored correctly on the council's Contract Register
  • Support and contribute to the Forward Procurement Plan
  • Produce and maintain Procurement Plans for all activity to ensure best value for Dudley residents
  • Assist in implementing innovative procurement procedures and approaches
  • Work closely with stakeholders to secure both cashable and non-cashable savings
Requirements/key criteria
  • Demonstrable experience in Local Authority procurement, particularly in social care categories
  • Strong understanding of public procurement regulations and governance
  • Confident managing multiple procurements at pace
  • Skilled in stakeholder engagement and presenting procurement advice
  • Excellent organisational skills with attention to process and record keeping
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable working in a hybrid model with 3 days per week on site
