Senior Business Support Officer

  • Pay: £14.96 - £16.23 per hour (PAYE)
  • Working Hours: 8:40am till 5pm (Hybrid)

Oldham Council are currently seeking an experienced Senior Business Support Officer to join their Children's Social Care Services team in Oldham. This role is crucial in providing high-quality professional support to frontline children's social workers and managers, helping to keep children safe. Day-to-day of the role:

  • Send out invitations, prepare for, and minute complex social care meetings, distributing key documents to professionals and families.
  • Oversee the workflow management of other business services employees.
  • Provide administrative support amidst competing and changing priorities and demands.
  • Deliver an excellent level of customer service, working as part of a team to achieve service objectives.
  • Monitor and maintain a range of financial and budget information and complete audits of financial payment requests.
  • Utilize Windows Operating System and Microsoft Office Programs, internal systems, and communicate with a variety of audiences.
  • Securely manage confidential and sensitive information.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in coordinating and minuting complex meetings, dealing with distressing information.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to work independently, complete tasks to deadlines, and reprioritise work as necessary.
  • Proven experience in providing a high standard of customer service and effective communication, with the confidence to challenge when advising and supporting senior officers.
  • Experience in following financial procedures and supervising others to ensure tasks are completed to agreed deadlines and quality standards.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, flexibility, ability to work at pace with excellent attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).
