Senior Business Support Officer
  • Hourly Rate: £13.69 PAYE

Join our Client in their Travel Assessment Team as a Senior Business Support Officer, where you will handle a variety of responsibilities across three core service areas: SEN Travel Applications, Personal Travel Budgets, and Post-16 Transport Contributions. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can manage high volumes of work, especially between April and October.

Day-to-day of the role SEN Travel Applications (Home-to-School Transport)
  • Triage new applications using a checklist to ensure completeness, correct mileage, and all required information.
  • Prepare cases for the weekly Travel Panel, assist panel members by sharing screens, navigating systems, and helping determine application criteria.
  • Process outcomes from the panel, including issuing acceptance or rejection letters, selecting appropriate reason codes, and sending letters to parents.
Personal Travel Budgets (PTB)
  • Assess applications for PTB, decide on approval or rejection, calculate mileage and payment amounts.
  • Send offers, letters, and follow-up communications via Power Apps.
  • Maintain and update spreadsheets, chase missing information, and track responses.
Post-16 Transport Contributions
  • Manage records on spreadsheets and the Integra system, handle termly invoicing, and chase outstanding payments.
  • Ensure invoice details are correct and manage financial records accurately.
General Duties Across All Areas
  • Handle high call volumes, including difficult or emotional conversations with parents.
  • Maintain GDPR and data protection compliance.
  • Work accurately with financial/administrative systems such as Integra.
  • Manage workload effectively in a high-pressure, time-sensitive environment.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Confidence in using Excel and experience with financial or administrative systems (Integra or similar).
  • Ability to handle challenging or emotional conversations.
  • Good time-management skills and ability to handle high workloads.
  • Understanding of GDPR and data protection.
