Job Description

We're seeking an experienced Business Analyst to join our clients Digital Infrastructure team, with a particular focus on the Rail sector. You'll play a key role in driving digital transformation projects, leading workshops, analysing business processes, and supporting the delivery of technical solutions that improve client outcomes.

The position is hybrid working, 3 days a week on client site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and support business analysis activities across a range of digital Rail projects.

  • Facilitate workshops and stakeholder discussions to capture, define, and refine business requirements.

  • Document and analyse current processes, identify future-state improvements and design end-to end process models.

  • Provide mentoring and support to junior analysts
  • Support data capture, validation, and analysis to inform business decisions.

  • Collaborate with Data Analysts to develop, interpret, and apply model outputs for decision making.

  • Develop detailed functional and non functional specifications to support solution delivery.

  • Work closely with project managers and technical teams to design and implement digital solutions.

  • Contribute to business development activities, including proposal writing, pitch presentations, and client engagement.

Skills & Experience Required
  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst, ideally within the Rail or broader Infrastructure sectors.

  • Strong understanding of business analysis methodologies, requirements management, and process improvement.

  • Experience working in Agile and/or Waterfall project environments.

  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to adapt to client cultures and environments.

  • Experience with data analytics and reporting tools (e.g. Power BI, SQL, Power Platform, SharePoint, MS Project).

  • Familiarity with digital transformation within the public sector (desirable).

  • Ability to gather, review, and analyse data such as KPIs, financial reports, and performance metrics.

  • Degree in an analytical discipline preferred; equivalent experience considered.

  • Business Analysis qualifications (e.g. BCS, IIBA) advantageous.
