Job Description
Senior Behavior Support Specialist / Clinical Nurse Specialist (Autism)

Location: Dublin, Ireland

Employment type: Permanent, Full time.

Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist assessment, intervention and support to autistic children and young people (0-18 years) with complex behavioural needs in the Blanchardstown CDNT.
  • Participate in an interdisciplinary team, collaborating with CDNT clinicians, families, and special school staff to deliver individualized support.
  • Support pupils at Danu Community Special School to the extent of their regulations.
  • Assist families in achieving meaningful participation, improved regulation and enhanced quality of life as outlined in the Individual Family Support Plan.
Qualifications
  • Level 8 Health or Social Care qualification with CORU registration (for Senior Behaviour Support Specialist) or Level 9 QQI qualification in a nursing specialty with NMBI registration (for Clinical Nurse Specialist).
  • Minimum of 3 years post registration experience supporting autistic children/young people with complex behavioural needs within a rights based, neuroaffirmative framework.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, teamwork, IT, and caseload management skills.
  • Full driving licence and access to own transport.
  • Experience within a CDNT or similar multidisciplinary setting.
  • Specialist postgraduate qualification - e.g., Autism, Paediatric Neurodevelopmental Conditions, or Child & Adolescent Mental Health.
  • Experience delivering specialist workshops and training programmes.
  • Level 2 behavioural competencies of Avista competency framework.
