Wheatley Group is seeking a proactive and forward thinking Senior Assurance Advisor to support the delivery of a first class integrated assurance service. Working closely with the Director of Assurance and Head of Assurance, you will help shape and embed a seamless approach to internal audit and risk management that underpins the Group's strategic ambitions.

About the roleIn this key position, you will:
- support the development and delivery of an integrated internal audit and risk management service across the Group;
- work with Boards, the Executive Team and senior managers to strengthen governance and assurance arrangements;
- lead on the development and maintenance of the Group's risk management framework, ensuring risk registers remain accurate and aligned with organisational priorities;
- present audit plans, risk updates and key findings at departmental and subsidiary Board meetings;
- produce high quality governance, risk and control focused reports supported by robust audit working papers; and
- contribute to continuous improvement across the assurance function.
You will bring:
- strong knowledge of internal audit, risk management and governance;
- excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present confidently to senior leaders;
- experience advising senior stakeholders on audit, governance and risk matters;
- proven ability to produce high quality reports for senior leaders, Executives and Boards;
- a strong understanding of IIA Standards and their practical application;
- excellent analytical, evaluation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively under pressure; and
- experience engaging with senior and/or Board level executives.
While not essential, it would be beneficial if the successful candidate had either of the following qualifications:
- a professional qualification (or working toward one) such as IIA, CA, or another relevant discipline.
