Senior Application Support Engineer

Uxbridge, hybrid (2 days on site)

Salary £45 - 49k + excellent benefits and work life balance

An opportunity to take the lead technical & mentor role for an expanding Application Support Team covering a complex, enterprise estate with a broad range of central and specific applications.

Your role will be to mentor and act as escalation for a growing team of Application Support Engineers, delivering technical support for users & Service Owners, planning upgrades and performing preventative maintenance. The team provides Level 2/3 support for a range of software applications, ensuring stability, security, and optimal performance. The role includes managing configuration changes, patching infrastructure and applications and collaborating with vendors and internal teams.

As the senior in the team, you'll work closely with Enterprise Architecture and the Application Manager, to lead the delivery of the team, set culture and promote a customer centred service.

Main accountabilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of application support engineers.
  • Act as an escalation point, resolving issues in a professional and timely manner.
  • Deliver Level 2 and Level 3 support for application-related issues.
  • Implement configuration changes and enhancements to software applications.
  • Ensuring regular patching of infrastructure and applications to ensure security and performance.
  • Manage relationships with vendors and coordinate upgrades and maintenance activities.
  • Prioritise and manage multiple support tickets, ensuring critical issues are addressed promptly.
  • Work with development teams to test and deploy application enhancements and updates.
  • Contributing to sprints as a link business representative and development.
  • Develop and maintain application roadmaps and contribute to annual planning activities.
  • Provide business relationship management, ensuring alignment between IT and business objectives.
