Senior Android Developer

Location: Manchester
Duration: 6 months

*Urgent 6 Month Contract*

This is a *Manchester, UK* based role with an excellent immediate start within a Global Technology Client that is working on *Building features across the full development life cycle.*

About the Role

We're looking for an experienced Android Developer to build and maintain modern Android features used at scale. You'll join an existing project, pick up complex architectures quickly, and ship production-ready features with minimal supervision.

What You'll Do

  • Build features across the full development life cycle
  • Write clean, maintainable, testable Kotlin code
  • Work with Back End engineers, designers, QA, and product teams
  • Fix production issues and improve performance and stability
  • Take part in code reviews and technical discussions

Must Have

  • 5+ years of Android development
  • Strong Kotlin skills
  • Jetpack Compose
  • Coroutines and Flow
  • Android Architecture Components
  • Unit and UI testing
  • REST and/or GraphQL APIs
  • CI/CD pipelines
  • Debugging production apps
  • Comfort in existing codebases with a strong ownership mindset

Nice to Have

  • A/B testing frameworks
  • Observability tools (Grafana, Datadog, Firebase)
  • Performance optimization
  • Backend familiarity
  • Experience with apps used by millions

  • Strong fundamentals and pragmatic decisions
  • Great debugging and communication skills
  • Comfortable with Claude/Codex, Agile, and delivering with minimal supervision
  • Realistic with estimates and quick to flag risks early
