We are seeking a Senior Analyst to join ourCS&BDteam,with a strong focus onSports-relatedprojects andinitiatives.
In this role, you will evaluateconsumer trends& competitordynamicsinSports,andassess realcommercial opportunitieswithintheSports media ecosystem. You willrun business case analysis, develop strategic recommendations, and help define the long-term direction of ourSportsoffering, working closely with cross-functional teamsacross Disney+ and ESPN.
The ideal candidate combines exceptional analytical skillsand a collaborative mindset,with agoodunderstandingofboththe sportsmediaindustry andthe streaming business. You willbe directly involved indevelopingbusiness cases for major sports rights acquisitionsandcommercialpartnerships,accurately assessing the financial and operational impacts, to inform ultimatedecision-making. You will alsomonitorperformanceof existing sports initiatives, recommending optimizations to maximize engagement, revenue, and overall valueto consumers.
This is a highvisibility/ highimpact role, where you will work directly with senior leadersacross Disney+ and ESPN,andsupportoncriticaldecisions that will shape ourSportsoffer across EMEA in the years to come.
Key areas of responsibility include:
- Maintain a comprehensive,accurate, and up-to-date database of past and current sports media rights in EMEA, as well as upcoming rights tenders. This includesleveragingmultiple information sources (e.g., desktop research, internal knowledge from ESPNteams, )and will contributetomaintaininga forward-looking, prioritized pipeline of target rights.
- Conduct research and analysisonindividual sports and media rights to support the evaluation of sportsrights pitches andinformbusiness cases for sportsrights acquisitions. This work will combine information provideddirectlyby rights holders, thorough desktop research, andgathering ofinternal knowledge from ESPNteams,researchteamsand other relevant stakeholderswithin TWDC
- Supportthedevelopmentof business cases for sports rights acquisitions, including financial & subscriber modelling, valuationanalysisand scenario planning
- Work closely with Marketing, Programming, Product,Commercial, Productionsand otherteamsto translate rights acquisitions into actionablego tomarketplans, ensuringtimelyandsuccessfullaunches
- Track performance ofacquiredsports rightson Disney+, providing insights to improve overall sports content performance on the platform and enhance the consumer experience
- Supportanalysisofothergrowth opportunitiesforSports in EMEA (e.g.,commercialpartnerships, evolution of commercial offer, introduction of new productfeatures), assessing strategicfitand financial & operational impacts
- Support preparation of annual strategic business review andmulti-year planfor Sports, including coordination with relevant Regional and US/Global stakeholders.
- MonitorkeySportstrends-includingconsumer preferences,competitors(rightsowned, monetization strategies, commercial offers, product features,etc.)and broader Sports landscapedynamics-, extracting meaningful insightstoinform key decisions
Qualifications/Work Experience:
Robust working experience, including direct exposure to Sports, in
Top tier Management/ Strategy consultancy firm and/or
Private Equity firm, with experience in Sports / Media projects
and/or
Streaming service, Pay TV/ Telecom provider, Broadcasting group or other media company, in a Business Development, Strategy or Finance role, with exposure to Sports business/ operation and/or
Professional Sports organizations (e.g., Clubs/ Leagues/ International Governing Bodies, Sports Agencies, ), ideally in a Business Development, Strategy or Finance role
Strong analytics - demonstrated ability to think in structured way (both conceptually and analytically) and to conduct / review complex quantitative analysis to inform business decisions.
Advanced MS Office skills, specifically Excel and PowerPoint.
