Senior AI/ML Engineer - EdTech - Remote - ASR

Senior AI/ML Engineer is required by this leading EdTech business to lead a greenfield applied AI coaching capability. This hands-on, individual contributor role gives you full technical ownership over cutting-edge Speech Processing (ASR) and LLM integration, helping to transform early-years education worldwide. You'll form part of a team collaborating with engineering and product specialists.

Key Responsibilities

• Speech Recognition Processing & ASR: Benchmark, select, and fine-tune open and commercial models
• Data Design: designing secure metadata tracking to prevent train/test leakage while managing compliance-driven data routing.
• Own ASR and LLM coaching evaluation pipelines, monitoring for bias, accuracy drift, hallucination, and per-group regression.
• LLM Integration: Combine ASR output, assessment profiles, and session histories into practical, automated guidance for educators.
• Deploy models for live web/mobile inference, manage compute budgets, upskill engineering colleagues, and represent the firm's AI capability to external academic partners

Ideally you can offer experience across -

• De ep expertise in ASR, fine-tuning, dialect adaptation, and phoneme-level techniques.
• Experience integrating LLMs with structured data for personalised recommendations.
• Proven ability to build training/evaluation infrastructure that withstands scientific scrutiny.
• Strong commitment to privacy-by-design under strict data governance frameworks (UK GDPR, COPPA, FERPA).
