Senior Advisory Solutions Consultant - Broad Markets

Position Overview

As a Senior Advisory Solutions Consultant at Appian, you will be the technical lead during the sales process, working with the sales team to demonstrate Appian's platform, articulate business value, and co create solutions with prospects.

Location & Eligibility

Hybrid role based in London, requiring residence within commuting distance of the Walkie Talkie (20 Fenchurch St). Weekly onsite presence expected, with 30% travel. Candidates must live in the United Kingdom.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with Account Executives to achieve sales goals across large accounts in the UK and Ireland (non FSI and Public Sector).
• Manage all technical aspects of the sales cycle from discovery to presentation.
• Work with the AE to complete comprehensive discovery and fully understand client business needs.
• Write and organize technical responses for RFPs and formal proposals.
• Build and present proof of concept applications solving specific customer problems.
• Translate technical details into business benefits for executives and stakeholders.
• Represent Appian at industry events, conferences, and seminars.
• Build long term relationships with technical staff at target accounts.
• Collaborate with internal teams to secure resources or information needed to close a deal.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• 10+ years of experience as a Solutions Consultant or Sales Engineer for enterprise software.
• Background in hands on technical work (e.g., Software Engineer, Technical Consultant).
• Comfortable handling deep functional questions and discussing production environments (APIs, application servers, databases).
• Experience working with large accounts using a value selling approach.
• Strong partnership mindset, taking equal responsibility for account planning and revenue targets.
• Excellent communication skills, able to explain technical concepts to non technical audiences.

Compensation & Benefits

Base Salary Range: £75,000-£150,000 GBP. Compensation may include discretionary bonus based on performance and company results. Pay will be adjusted according to experience, qualifications, and market conditions.
