ABOUT THE ROLE:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accounts Payable Accountant to join our finance team within a leading telecommunications carrier. This role will play a crucial part in overseeing the accounts payable function, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, managing vendor relationships, and contributing to the financial integrity of our global operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Invoice Processing: Oversee the end-to-end accounts payable process, ensuring accurate coding, approval, and timely payment of invoices.
- Vendor Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, addressing inquiries and resolving issues.
- Team Support: Provide guidance and support to the Accounts Payable team and assist other departments with related queries, ensuring efficient workflow and timely resolution of issues.
- Policy Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements for the group.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and controls.
- Reporting: Collaborate with the finance team to generate accurate and timely reports related to accounts payable.
- Audit Support: Assist in internal and external audits, providing documentation, and responding to audit inquiries.
- Cash Flow Management: Coordinate with treasury and finance teams to optimize cash flow and manage payment schedules.
- Training: Contribute to the development and delivery of training programs to enhance awareness and adherence to accounts payable policies.
YOU'LL BRING:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; additional professional certifications (e.g., CPA, ACCA) are advantageous.
- Experience: A minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in accounts payable, preferably within the telecommunications industry.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with telecommunications industry regulations and compliance requirements in Europe and the United States is a plus
- ERP Proficiency: Strong proficiency in using accounting software and SAP.
- Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to provide guidance and support to accounts payable teams.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
