Accounts Manager Location: Macroom or Fermoy, Co Cork
Hybrid role
Due to significant business growth, a leading retail accountancy and consulting firm in Ireland has an exciting new opportunity for an Accounts Manager to join our team. This role involves liaising directly with clients and managing a dedicated team of accountants and trainees.
We are a highly successful and innovative business with a growing team of over 50 professionals. Our national client base includes some of the most prominent names in the retail sector. This is an ideal opportunity for a senior accounting professional looking to advance their career in a dynamic environment.
The Role- Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of Management Accounts and provide full financial control services to clients.
- KPI Management: Review and present weekly KPI reports to the Senior Account Manager.
- Process Improvement: Address financial control issues arising from KPI reports and suggest necessary improvements.
- Internal Controls: Evaluate and implement effective internal control systems.
- Operational Oversight: Oversee the accounts payable function and manage working capital.
- Compliance: Prepare and submit VAT returns.
- Background: Part-qualified or experienced accountant, ideally with experience in a small-to-medium practice.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in all aspects of accounts preparation and competent in IT.
- Leadership: Proven ability to train and supervise junior staff.
- Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work on your own initiative to meet tight deadlines.
- Industry Knowledge: An understanding of the retail sector is advantageous but not essential.
- Availability: Ability to start immediately is highly desirable.
- Relevant third-level degree.
- Suitability for individuals currently pursuing professional qualifications (CPA, ACCA, CIMA, or ACA) or those nearing final exams.
- Previous experience in a similar role within an accounting practice is preferred.
