Senior Accountant / Management Accountant (Bilanzbuchhalter) (m/f/d)

About the Role

This is a key finance role supporting both our own operations and our expanding third-party property management portfolio in Austria. You will take ownership of management reporting, statutory accounting and month-end close while partnering closely with operational teams, management and external advisors to ensure accurate financial reporting, strong financial controls and continuous process improvement.


Aufgaben

Financial Reporting & Accounting

  • Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports independently
  • Manage month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing processes
  • Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate accounting across multiple legal entities
  • Prepare and review bank, balance sheet and intercompany reconciliations
  • Coordinate the preparation of statutory financial statements together with external accountants and tax advisors
  • Review VAT returns, corporate tax returns and other statutory filings

Business Partnering & Financial Planning

  • Prepare variance analyses and present financial insights to management
  • Support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities
  • Act as a trusted finance partner for operational budget holders
  • Prepare cash flow forecasts, including quarterly project funding requirements

Finance Operations & Controls

  • Oversee the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable processes, including payment runs
  • Coordinate payroll activities and liaise with the external payroll provider
  • Liaise with banks regarding KYC requirements and banking administration
  • Drive the continuous improvement of finance processes, internal controls and reporting quality
  • Support the optimisation of our finance systems, including Sage Intacct
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders across multiple business entities
  • Provide cross-functional support and holiday cover within the Finance team

Profil
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related discipline
  • Austrian Bilanzbuchhalter qualification is highly desirable
  • Minimum 5-7 years of relevant professional experience in accounting or finance
  • Proven experience preparing management accounts and independently managing month-end close
  • Sound knowledge of Austrian GAAP (UGB) and Austrian tax regulations
  • Experience in the property, real estate or hospitality sector is an advantage
  • Strong understanding of statutory reporting, financial controls and management reporting
  • Experience with ERP systems, ideally Sage Intacct
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and MS Office skills
  • Fluent German and English, both written and spoken
  • Excellent organisational skills and exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain financial information to non-financial stakeholders
  • A proactive, hands-on and solution-oriented mindset with a strong sense of ownership
