Senior / Principal Planner (MRTPI)

FutureGen Recruitment is working with a well-established independent planning consultancy with three offices nationwide, looking to appoint a Senior or Principal Planner to join their Manchester office.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced planner to take on a key role within a respected consultancy that delivers high-quality planning advice across a diverse portfolio of projects. The firm offers a supportive, collaborative environment where planners are trusted to manage their work and develop long-term careers.

The Role

You will be involved in a wide range of planning consultancy work, taking responsibility for managing projects and supporting clients through the planning process. The role offers exposure to complex and interesting schemes, with scope to take on greater responsibility as the business continues to grow.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing and delivering planning applications and appeals
• Providing planning advice to clients across a range of development sectors
• Leading projects and coordinating inputs from internal and external consultants
• Liaising with local planning authorities, stakeholders and clients
• Supporting and mentoring junior planners where appropriate

About You

3-5+ years' planning experience, gained in consultancy and/or local authority

• Strong technical planning knowledge and report-writing skills
• Confident communicator, able to manage client relationships
• Organised, commercially aware and comfortable managing multiple projects
