SEND Tribunal & Complaints OfficerLocation: LiverpoolRate: £400 per dayWorking Pattern: Full-time Hybrid - 2 days on site required Pertemps Social Care are currently recruiting for an experienced SEND Tribunal & Complaints Officer to join a Local Authority SEND service in Liverpool. The council is seeking an experienced specialist to provide additional short-term capacity within the SEND service, with a key focus on reducing the existing backlog of SEND complaints and Tribunal cases.This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with a strong background in SEND complaints, mediation and Tribunal processes who can quickly pick up complex cases and work independently to achieve timely resolutions.Key Responsibilities
- Manage and progress a caseload of SEND complaints and Tribunal cases.
- Work proactively to reduce the existing backlog and ensure cases progress within required timescales.
- Investigate and respond to complex SEND complaints.
- Coordinate and manage SEND Tribunal activity, ensuring cases are appropriately prepared and progressed.
- Review case records, evidence and relevant documentation to inform decisions and responses.
- Liaise with parents, carers, schools, legal representatives and other professionals.
- Ensure all complaints and Tribunal matters are managed in accordance with relevant SEND legislation, statutory guidance and Local Authority procedures.
- Identify risks, delays and barriers to resolution and take appropriate action.
- Provide clear, accurate and professional written responses and case documentation.
- Work collaboratively with internal SEND teams and wider services to achieve timely resolutions.
- Support the Local Authority in improving outcomes and reducing future complaints and Tribunal activity
- Proven experience managing SEND complaints and Tribunal cases.
- Strong knowledge of SEND legislation and statutory processes.
- Experience working within a Local Authority SEND service.
- Ability to investigate complex complaints and produce high-quality written responses.
- Experience preparing and progressing cases through the SEND Tribunal process.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong organisational and case management skills.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage competing priorities.
- Ability to work effectively with families, schools, professionals and other stakeholders.
