EdStaff are a leading independent supply agency based in the Northwest, who are currently recruiting enthusiastic primary teaching assistant to work on a one-to-one basis with a child in KS1 with SEND needs. who can inspire young people in their learning. We have day-to-day, short-term and long-term positions available across the Northwest area.

Person Specifications:

  • Looks to inspire young people in their learning and create a fun and engaging routine for pupils
  • Confident in the classroom and able to use your own initiative
  • Can work with teaching and SLT staff to remove learning barriers for pupils and create a safe and stimulating working environment
  • Passionate about delivering fun and engaging lessons
  • Desire to make a difference within educational settings
  • Hold an up-to-date DBS on the update service or be prepared to undertake a full enhanced DBS check prior to placement.

Key Responsibilities;

  • Helping the class teacher engage pupils and for them to be able to access learning material
  • Work on a one-to-one basis with pupil with SEND needs
  • Work closely with school SENDCo to assess learning and SEMH needs on classroom and enact strategies and resources aimed to pupils regulate themselves in a school setting
  • Monitor and manage pupil behaviour in line with school policy and process

Essential Requirements:

  • Ability to work on a one-to-one basis within mainstream SEND school setting
  • Kind, calm, nurturing personality who can build trusting relationships with pupils
  • Can work across departments to help remove learning barriers for pupils
  • Available on a full-time basis during the school day
  • Experience of working with children inside or outside of the education sector
  • Suitable references within the last 3 years
