Are you an experienced Care Assistant, Support Worker or Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding opportunity in education?

Aspire People is recruiting compassionate and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistants to support children with complex learning, physical and communication needs in specialist settings across South Liverpool.

This is an excellent opportunity to join welcoming and supportive schools where you'll help children with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD and SEMH, enabling them to access learning, build confidence, and achieve their full potential.

The Role

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will provide tailored support for children with complex learning and physical needs, working closely with teachers and other professionals to create a safe, engaging and inclusive learning environment.

  • Providing one-to-one and small group support to help pupils access learning.
  • Supporting pupils with personal care, including toileting and changing where required.
  • Assisting with mobility needs, including wheelchair transfers and hoisting.
  • Delivering sensory and communication-based activities tailored to individual needs.
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists and healthcare professionals to support each child's learning and wellbeing.
  • Building positive relationships that encourage confidence, independence and engagement.

  • Anyone with experience supporting children or adults with complex needs who is looking to transition into education
Essential Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience supporting children or adults with complex learning and/or physical needs.
  • Knowledge of medical needs such as PEG feeding, epilepsy, PICA or similar care requirements.
  • Confidence providing personal care and supporting wheelchair users.
  • A patient, caring and compassionate approach.
  • The ability to follow individual care plans and work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
  • Two professional references.
