Job Title: Teaching Assistant - Specialist SEN School

Location: Stanstead Abbotts

Salary: £19,711 (Actual)

Contract: Full-Time, Term Time Only

Hours: 34 hours per week (Monday-Friday, 8.45am-3.45pm, 30 minute lunch)

About the Role

A highly supportive specialist school near Hoddesdon is looking for enthusiastic and caring Teaching Assistants to join their team. The school supports pupils aged 2-19 with severe learning difficulties, complex needs and challenging behaviour. Staff work in a warm, collaborative environment with excellent facilities and resources. This is a rewarding role where you will help pupils learn, grow and achieve their personal goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support pupils with personal care, social development, hygiene, first aid and general welfare
  • Provide administrative support to teachers (photocopying, filing, record keeping)
  • Assist with planning and delivering individual education plans
  • Monitor pupil progress and maintain accurate records
  • Use specialist knowledge or experience to support learning
  • Build positive relationships with parents, carers and external professionals
  • Promote inclusion and help pupils integrate with peers
  • Support pupils during swimming or hydrotherapy sessions
What We're Looking For

You do not need previous experience as a Teaching Assistant. Applicants with backgrounds in care, childcare, youth work or supporting vulnerable people are encouraged to apply.
