Job Title: Teaching Assistant - Specialist SEN School
Location: Stanstead Abbotts
Salary: £19,711 (Actual)
Contract: Full-Time, Term Time Only
Hours: 34 hours per week (Monday-Friday, 8.45am-3.45pm, 30 minute lunch)
About the RoleA highly supportive specialist school near Hoddesdon is looking for enthusiastic and caring Teaching Assistants to join their team. The school supports pupils aged 2-19 with severe learning difficulties, complex needs and challenging behaviour. Staff work in a warm, collaborative environment with excellent facilities and resources. This is a rewarding role where you will help pupils learn, grow and achieve their personal goals.
Key Responsibilities- Support pupils with personal care, social development, hygiene, first aid and general welfare
- Provide administrative support to teachers (photocopying, filing, record keeping)
- Assist with planning and delivering individual education plans
- Monitor pupil progress and maintain accurate records
- Use specialist knowledge or experience to support learning
- Build positive relationships with parents, carers and external professionals
- Promote inclusion and help pupils integrate with peers
- Support pupils during swimming or hydrotherapy sessions
You do not need previous experience as a Teaching Assistant. Applicants with backgrounds in care, childcare, youth work or supporting vulnerable people are encouraged to apply.
