The Role

As a SEND Teacher, you will deliver engaging, personalised learning experiences that meet the individual needs of every pupil while creating a safe, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering creative, differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
  • Using Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) to set, monitor and review personalised learning targets.
  • Adapting teaching strategies and resources to ensure all pupils can access the curriculum.
  • Working collaboratively with the SENCO, therapists, teaching assistants and other professionals to provide the best possible support.
  • Building positive relationships with parents and carers, providing regular updates on pupil progress.
  • Promoting a positive, inclusive learning environment where every child feels valued and supported.
  • Following all safeguarding, SEND and school policies to ensure the wellbeing of every pupil.
What We're Looking For
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience teaching children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, including Autism, communication needs, SLD and PMLD.
  • A strong understanding of the EYFS and KS1 curriculum and effective SEND teaching strategies.
  • The ability to inspire and lead support staff while working effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent communication, organisation and classroom management skills.
  • A compassionate, patient and flexible approach with a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
