Job Description
SEND Teacher Full Time - Monday - Friday - 8:30am - 15:30pm (Temporary, to permanent full time) Chesterfield Pay to scale - £175 - £325 Per Day

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications.

The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are: UK QTS and experience working with students with special educational needs and behaviours that challenge.

Contract Dates: Monday 1st June 2026 - Flexible start dates available

The role

As a SEND Teacher, you will support the class in the delivery of lessons, whilst also providing support and guidance to students in their varied learning needs.

Working with students with special educational needs is rewarding but challenging; consistency and continuity are essential.

Ideally, you will have experience working with social, emotional and mental health needs of children or young adults, ASD, ADHA, MLD and emotional behaviour difficulties.

The School

Based in an Ofsted rated 'Good' SEND provision in the Chesterfield area, the school caters to needs including SEMH, ASC, ADHA, MLD and EBD.

It is passionate about providing high quality education, care and specialist support for all pupils.

The school caters for children from primary year to secondary (KS1 - KS5). This role will be based in a secondary aged classroom.

Requirements

To be considered, you will need to:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) Primary or Secondary subject specialism - Ideally Maths and/or English.
  • Experience working with children with a variety of SEND including MLD/SLD/PMLD/ASD/SEMH/SEBD/PD/VI/HI and other complex needs.
  • Have previous experience within a similar specialist setting or strong transferable experience from a mainstream setting.
  • Have a genuine desire to become part of a committed team of SEND Teachers and LSA's.
  • Have a passion for teaching with the ability to plan and deliver inspiring lessons.
  • Ideally be Team Teach trained or willing to undertake a course free of charge through us.
