SEND TA; Year 4; Maghull

I am working with a Maghull based primary school who are looking for a Teaching Assistant to join their team based in Year 4.

Your new role

This Teaching Assistant job is based in Lower KS2 and is a full-time position, working 8.30-3.30 Monday-Friday during term time.

Duties will include:

• Supporting the class teacher in the classroom by preparing resources and teaching materials
• Ensuring that the children in the class have access to the curriculum
• Supporting pupils with SEND & preparing individual resources for pupils who need them
• Working closely with the class teacher, adapting lessons and activities and assessing progress to create a positive working and learning environment in the classroom
• Supporting on a 1:1 and small group basis as and when required

What you'll need to succeed

The successful candidate will have had previous experience working with children in the primary age range, particularly in the KS2 age range. Previous experience working with challenging behaviour and learning difficulties would also be an advantage. You will have excellent communication skills and be comfortable working as part of a team including school staff and parents/ carers to ensure every child has the chance to thrive. You will be able to work on your own initiative without supervision and be able to differentiate work depending on the ability of individuals in your group.

Ideally, the school would like a qualified teaching assistant, but a candidate with classroom-based experience within KS2 will also be considered.
