Job Description
Job Summary

Sutton, South London - Start September 2026. Hours: 11am-2pm (Term Time Only). Contract: Temporary to Permanent. Pay: from £14.25 per hour. Axcis Education is recruiting a caring and enthusiastic lunchtime assistant / SEND support assistant for a highly rated specialist school.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise and support pupils with SEND during lunchtime.
  • Support children with ASD, ADHD, PMLD and additional learning needs.
  • Assist with personal care, including eating, drinking and toileting when required.
  • Encourage independence, communication and social interaction.
  • Support pupils in accessing play, leisure and outdoor activities safely.
  • Monitor pupil wellbeing and respond appropriately to behavioural or emotional needs.
  • Work closely with school staff to maintain a safe, positive and inclusive environment.
Qualifications
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEND, SEN, ASD, ADHD or PMLD.
  • Experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Support Worker, Care Assistant, Youth Worker or Lunchtime Supervisor is desirable.
  • A patient, empathetic and nurturing approach.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Confidence supporting personal care needs.
  • A genuine passion for helping children achieve their potential.
