Temporary SEND Lecturer - Essex

Contract: Temporary
Start Date: ASAP
Rate: Competitive, dependent on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons to learners with a range of SEND needs.
• Create a supportive, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
• Develop and adapt learning materials to meet individual learner requirements.
• Monitor learner progress and provide regular feedback and support.
• Work collaboratively with support staff, therapists, and wider educational teams.
• Contribute to learner reviews, target setting, and individual learning plans.

Essential Requirements

• Relevant teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS, or equivalent).
• Experience teaching learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
• Strong understanding of EHCPs and inclusive teaching practices.
• Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

Desirable

• Experience within Further Education or Specialist Education settings.
• SEND-specific qualifications or training.
• Experience supporting learners with Autism, Learning Difficulties, SEMH, or Complex Needs.
