Pay: £35+ per hour (Inclusive of Holiday Pay)
Job Type: Full Time Temporary Ongoing (Potential for Extension and Permanent Opportunities)
We are currently recruiting for a passionate and dedicated SEND Lecturer to deliver high-quality teaching across Entry Level 1 to Entry Level 3 programmes at Barra Hall, Uxbridge.
This rewarding role involves supporting learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) through a varied curriculum, including English & Maths Functional Skills, Life and Living Skills, Horticulture, Retail, and Employability programmes. You will play a key role in helping learners develop independence, confidence, communication skills, and preparation for adulthood.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and inclusive teaching across Entry Level 1 to Entry Level 3 programmes.
- Teach and embed English & Maths Functional Skills within the curriculum.
- Plan and deliver lessons in Life and Living Skills, Employability, Retail, and Horticulture.
- Differentiate learning activities to meet individual learner needs and EHCP outcomes where applicable.
- Monitor, assess, and record learner progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
- Foster learners' independence, social skills, employability skills, and personal development.
- Create a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment that promotes learner engagement and achievement.
- Work collaboratively with Learning Support Assistants, teaching staff, parents/carers, and external professionals.
- Maintain accurate learner records and contribute to quality assurance processes.
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding, health and safety, equality, diversity, and inclusion policies.
Essential Requirements
- Teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS, or equivalent).
- Experience teaching learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
- Experience delivering Functional Skills English and Maths.
- Strong classroom management and learner engagement skills.
- Knowledge of inclusive teaching practices and differentiated learning.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting learner welfare.
