Job Description
Overview

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate professional to support children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) across the Local Authority. In this rewarding role you will play a vital part in delivering high-quality statutory assessments and developing impactful Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) that truly make a difference.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain EHCPs across the Local Authority for children with SEND.
  • Maintain a caseload of children with EHCPs and attend annual reviews to amend plans as required.
  • Liaise with providers of childcare, education or vocational provision to source appropriate placements for children and young people with EHCP.

  • Passionate about inclusion and ensuring every child and young person can thrive.
  • Proactive, resilient, and committed to achieving the best outcomes for children and young people.
  • Highly organised and compassionate, with a strong commitment to supporting children and young people with SEND.
  • Good understanding of the SEND Code of Practice (2015) and relevant legislation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to build positive relationships with families, schools, and professionals.
  • Empathetic and solution-focused, with the ability to manage sensitive conversations effectively.
  • Able to manage a varied caseload, prioritise workload, and meet statutory deadlines.
  • Understanding of person centred approaches and co production.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
