SENCO - New School Opening 2026

Our client is opening a brand-new specialist school in late 2026 for children and young people aged 5-19 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. With a planned capacity of 72 students, the school will offer a nurturing, inclusive and aspirational environment where every learner can thrive.

They are now seeking a dedicated SENCO to lead and champion our provision for students with complex and special educational needs. This is a rare opportunity to be part of a school from the ground up and help shape its culture, systems and long-term success.

  • Liaising with EHCP Coordinators and external professionals
  • Supporting teaching staff with specialist training and strategies
  • Monitoring and evaluating SEN teaching and learning
  • Leading on assessment, data tracking, and reporting
  • Providing CPD and INSET on SEN best practice
  • Contributing to strategic planning and school improvement

  • Experience working with pupils with SEN, ideally in a specialist setting
  • Strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and safeguarding
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills
  • A collaborative, creative, and child-centred approach
Benefits:
  • Life assurance and competitive pension scheme
  • Free onsite parking
  • Access to Perkbox - high street discounts, car lease, and cycle-to-work schemes
  • Employee assistance programme for wellbeing and support
  • Fully funded training and qualifications
