Job Description

Experienced SEN Outreach Tutor (Buckinghamshire)ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Prospero Teaching is recruiting an experienced SEN Outreach Tutor to deliver bespoke 1:1 education packages to children and young people with Special Educational Needs who are currently out of mainstream education in Buckinghamshire.

This role involves carefully planning and delivering highly personalised learning programmes that meet individual educational, emotional, and behavioural needs. Many pupils may have been out of education for a significant period and could present with needs such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or moderate learning difficulties.

This position is ideal for a skilled and confident SEN professional seeking a flexible, part-time role away from the classroom, where they can make a genuine difference through tailored, relationship-focused teaching. You will be responsible for rebuilding confidence, establishing routines, and supporting pupils to re-engage positively with learning.

Prospero Teaching will work closely with you to track progress, support planning, and ensure each pupil's programme remains effective and responsive.

CONTRACT / POSITION DETAILS
  • Location: Buckinghamshire
  • Position: SEN Outreach Tutor
  • Type of Work: Temporary / Contract
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Hours: 10-15 hours per week
  • Session Length: 1-3 hours per session
  • Rate of Pay: From £25 per hour (dependent on experience)
  • Working Pattern: Flexible, term-time
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & QUALIFICATIONS
  • QTS, QTLS, PGCE, or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Extensive experience working with children and young people with SEN
  • Proven experience delivering 1:1 or small-group tuition
  • Strong knowledge of differentiation, behaviour management, and trauma-informed practice
  • Up-to-date Safeguarding training (desirable but not essential)
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:
  • Have the Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced DBS certificate on the child barred list (update service preferred) or be willing to apply for one
  • Provide two professional child-related references covering the last two years
