We are recruiting for a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 1 pupil with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs within a specialist educational setting.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is patient, nurturing and passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning. You will play a vital role in supporting the pupil's emotional wellbeing, engagement and educational progress throughout the school day.
The RoleYou will:
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 1 pupil with SEMH needs.
- Build a positive, trusting and consistent relationship.
- Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies.
- Assist with classroom learning and social development.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and support staff.
- Help create a safe, engaging and inclusive learning environment.
We're looking for someone who:
- Has experience working with children or young people.
- Is calm, patient and resilient.
- Has a nurturing and relationship-focused approach.
- Can confidently support pupils with SEMH needs.
- Has experience in education, care, residential care, youth work or support work (desirable but not essential).
- £27,500 per annum
