SEN Teaching Assistant - Coalville
Location: Coalville
Pay: £105 per day
Hours: Monday to Friday, full-time
Setting: One school only
Experience: Previous experience working with children essential
SEN: Must be willing to support children with SEN
Qualification: SEN/Childcare/Teaching Assistant qualification desirable
DBS: Must have a DBS or be willing to obtain one

Aspire People are working in partnership with a school in Coalville who are looking for a caring, patient and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who has experience working with children and wants to develop their experience supporting pupils with additional needs. You'll work closely with the class teacher and wider school team to help pupils access their learning, develop their independence and get the most from their school day.
You'll be based in one school, Monday to Friday, allowing you to build strong relationships with the children and become a consistent and trusted member of their support network.
Key responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 or small-group support to pupils with SEN
Help children access classroom activities and adapt tasks where appropriate
Support pupils with communication, social and emotional development
Encourage independence, confidence and positive engagement
Help children stay focused and involved during lessons
Support pupils with transitions between lessons and activities
Use positive reinforcement to encourage appropriate behaviour
Follow individual support plans and guidance provided by the school
Work alongside the class teacher and SENCO to support individual needs
Monitor pupils' progress and communicate any concerns to the relevant staff
Provide a calm, patient and consistent approach throughout the school day
What we're looking for:
Previous experience working with children is essential
A genuine willingness to work with children with SEN and additional needs
SEN experience would be desirable but is not essential
A relevant qualification such as a Level 2/3 Childcare, Teaching Assistant or SEN qualification would be desirable
Someone who is patient, caring and understanding
A positive attitude and willingness to learn
Someone who can build trusting relationships with children
A good team player who can work closely with teachers and support staff
A valid DBS on the Update Service is desirable, but if you don't currently have one, you must be willing to obtain one
