SEN Teaching Assistant - Secondary Schools (Stockport)
We are currently recruiting dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils with additional needs across a range of mainstream secondary schools in Stockport, including Cheadle, Bramhall, Hazel Grove, Heaton Chapel, Reddish, and Offerton.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting young people-whether you have prior school-based experience, SEN experience, or transferable skills from backgrounds such as care, youth work, support work, or psychology.
The Role
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with Special Educational Needs

Support students in engaging with learning and building confidence
-
Assist the class teacher in maintaining a positive and inclusive classroom environment
-
Adapt resources and activities to meet individual learning needs
-
Promote independence, emotional regulation, and positive behaviour
-
Work collaboratively with the SENCo and wider pastoral team
The Ideal Candidate
We welcome applications from candidates who are:

Experienced in working with children or young people (e.g. education, care, mentoring, youth work, or support roles)

Confident supporting pupils with SEN, or willing to develop their skills in this area

Patient, proactive, and relationship-focused
-
Able to follow support plans and adapt to a range of needs

Reliable and committed to making a positive impact

Available full-time, Monday to Friday (school hours)
A Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification or previous SEN experience is desirable, but not essential.
