SEN Teaching Assistant - Year 4

Desian Education are proud to be working in partnership with a two form entry primary school in Salford with a fantastic reputation and is easily accessible via public transport. We require an experienced and reliable teaching assistant to join the year 4 class on a full time temporary basis. This is an extremely rewarding position where you will join the school on a long term temporary basis and play an integral role in the emotional well being and education of a pupil within the year 4 class. The position has an immediate start available and, subject to funding, will last the remainder of the academic year.

Your new role

As a teaching assistant within this school you will be supporting a year 4 pupil with SEMH on a 1:1 basis in the main classroom. Your pupil has been subject to significant trauma so the ability to build a strong constructive relationship and use a trauma informed approach is imperative.

• Support pupils social, emotional and well being development
• Provide self esteem, emotional awareness and coping strategies/support
• Build strong constructive relationships with pupils to promote well being and attendance
• Work in partnership with the SENCO
• Maintain accurate pupil records to track progress and emotional development
• Integrate into new pupil groups
• Implement an array of positive behaviour strategies

What you need to succeed

• Full "Right to Work" in the UK
• Experience supporting SEMH and a strong understanding of behaviours and emotional well being
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• An Enhanced Children's DBS certificate or willingness to obtain
• A minimum of 40 days referenceable classroom experience within the last 2 years
