Milk Education is working with a number of welcoming and inclusive primary schools across Wakefield who are looking for experienced SEN Teaching Assistants to support children with a range of additional needs. The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, Speech & Language needs, SEMH and other additional learning needs.
  • Support pupils both inside and outside of the classroom to help them achieve their full potential.
  • Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs and encourage engagement.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
  • Work closely with class teachers and SENCOs to deliver effective support strategies.

What We're Looking For
  • Experience working with children with SEND in a school, nursery, care or similar setting.
  • A Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or Level 3) is desirable but not essential where relevant experience can be demonstrated.
  • Experience supporting pupils with Autism, ADHD, SEMH, Speech & Language or other additional needs is advantageous.
  • Strong behaviour management and communication skills.
  • A patient, nurturing and proactive approach to supporting children's learning and wellbeing.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
  • The Right to Work in the UK.
