Are you a dedicated and compassionate individual looking to remove barriers to learning? We are seeking a

SEN Teaching Assistant

to join our team. This is a rewarding role where you will work closely with students with diverse needs, including autism and complex learning requirements, ensuring every child feels safe, included, and empowered to grow.

Key Responsibilities

You will play a pivotal role in both classroom management and individual pupil development:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support, tailoring your approach to meet the specific needs of the child/children.
  • Assist the lead teacher in implementing lesson plans and educational activities, utilising specialised strategies to enhance the learning experience.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive atmosphere that promotes self-esteem, independence, and social interaction among pupils.
  • Promote positive behaviour using established school techniques, dealing promptly with conflict while encouraging pupil responsibility.
  • Collaborate with the SENDco and teaching staff to monitor, record, and report on pupil achievement and progress.
  • Ensure the safety of all pupils, providing assistance with personal care or mobility where required.
Requirements & Experience

We are looking for a patient& caring individual who possesses:

Experience

A minimum of 6 months of experience working in UK schools or a care giving capacity (Special Education/Autism experience highly preferred).

Compliance

An Enhanced DBS check on the update service (or willingness to apply for one) and eligibility to work in the UK.

Communication

Strong verbal and written skills to effectively interact with pupils, staff, and parents/carers.

A genuine passion for supporting children with complex needs and a commitment to long-term, full-time work.
