Pay: £143 - £207 per day (dependent on experience and whether PAYE or Umbrella)
Start Date: September 2026 or before for right person

Reeson Education is proud to be partnering with a specialist secondary setting in the FY8 area to recruit a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teacher for a full-time, long-term position starting in September 2026.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced SEN Teacher to join a highly supportive specialist setting that caters for pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and associated additional needs. Although the pupils are secondary-aged, the successful SEN Teacher will primarily be delivering learning at a KS2 level, adapting the curriculum to meet individual learning needs and EHCP outcomes.
The school is seeking a nurturing and adaptable SEN Teacher who can create a calm, structured and engaging learning environment where pupils feel safe, understood and able to thrive both academically and personally.
SEN Teacher - The Role- Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons tailored to individual pupil needs
- Deliver a broad and balanced curriculum at KS2 level
- Adapt teaching strategies to support pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition and associated needs
- Create a structured, nurturing and supportive classroom environment
- Use visual supports, communication strategies and sensory approaches to maximise engagement
- Monitor progress and use assessment effectively to inform planning
- Support communication, emotional regulation, independence and confidence
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists and pastoral teams
- Contribute to EHCP reviews, target setting and pupil progress meetings
- Maintain high expectations for learning, behaviour and personal development
- Ensure safeguarding and pupil wellbeing remain at the centre of your practice
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - Essential
- Experience teaching KS2 pupils
- Previous experience supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
- Experience within a SEND, SEMH or specialist provision setting
- Strong understanding of adaptive teaching and differentiated learning
- Knowledge of EHCPs and outcomes-based provision
- Excellent classroom management and behaviour support skills
- The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, families and staff
- A calm, patient and resilient approachA genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
- Experience working with non-verbal pupils
- Additional SEND or autism-specific training
- Experience working alongside therapists and multidisciplinary teams
- Experience within specialist autism or SEND provisions
- Knowledge of sensory regulation strategies and communication support systems
- A highly supportive leadership team
- Small class sizes and excellent staff-to-pupil ratios
- Ongoing CPD and specialist SEND training
- Strong pastoral and therapeutic support across the setting
