Step Into Teaching is working with a specialist school in Cromer, Norfolk, to recruit an enthusiastic and compassionate SEN Graduate Teaching Assistant.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a graduate looking to gain hands on experience supporting children and young people with a range of additional needs. You will work closely with experienced teachers and specialist staff, helping pupils access learning, build confidence and achieve their full potential.

The role would be particularly well suited to graduates considering future careers in:

• SEN and wider SEND support

What will you be doing?

As an SEN Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Support pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs.
• Provide one-to-one and small-group support.
• Help pupils access personalised learning activities.
• Build positive and trusting relationships with young people.
• Support pupils with their communication, social and emotional development.
• Encourage confidence, independence and engagement in learning.
• Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
• Work closely with teachers and specialist professionals to meet individual pupil needs.

• Hold, or are predicted to achieve, a degree, typically a 2:2 or above.
• Have a genuine interest in supporting children and young people with additional needs.
• Are patient, empathetic and resilient.
• Have strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Are enthusiastic, proactive and committed to making a difference.
• Can work effectively as part of a wider school team.

Previous experience working with children, young people or vulnerable individuals is beneficial but not essential. The most important qualities are a genuine passion for supporting pupils and a willingness to learn.
