Job Description
Role Overview

We are working with a well known SEN school in Teesside who are seeking learning support assistants/classroom support workers.

You'll be supporting students with their academic, personal and social development. The role involves working with learners with Autism, moderate learning difficulties and varying levels of behaviour in a specialist learning environment. The role is demanding and challenging, but very rewarding.

Hours: 8:30 3:30 Mon Fri

Ideal Candidate
  • Experience working in a similar environment or with young people who may present challenging behaviours.
  • Resilience, patience, compassion and understanding.
  • Ability to be proactive, creative and empathetic.
  • Willingness to adhere to the school's policies and practices.
Key Responsibilities
  • Support learners with academic, personal and social development.
  • Use a reflexive approach to learners, their learning and needs.
  • Engage learners who may have had a negative experience of education.

Required Qualifications & Training
  • Appropriate qualifications and training for this role.
  • Valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

  • Completion of safeguarding checks in accordance with DfE statutory guidance.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position, with the option of becoming permanent in some cases.
