Prospero Teaching is seeking a caring, patient, and motivated SEN Learning Support Assistant to work with pupils in the Andover area. This long-term role involves supporting children who have additional learning needs, including autism, ADHD, communication difficulties, learning delays, and social-emotional challenges.
You will work closely with teaching staff to provide consistent support throughout the school day, helping pupils engage with learning, build confidence, and develop key social and emotional skills. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who wants to make a genuine difference in a child's education.
This role is particularly well suited to candidates with backgrounds in care, support work, youth work, SEN, or graduates in psychology, education, criminology, or child development.
The Role:- Provide 1:1 support and small-group assistance for pupils with SEN
- Help pupils stay focused, regulate emotions, and engage with learning
- Support classroom activities, routines, and transitions
- Assist with adapted tasks following guidance from teaching staff
- Encourage independence, positive behaviour, and confidence
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and support teams
- Experience working with children or vulnerable individuals
- Calm, patient, and confident supporting additional needs
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Able to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils
- Adaptable and reliable in a classroom setting
- Passionate about supporting children who need extra guidance
- Psychology, education, or child-related graduates encouraged to apply
- Position: SEN Learning Support Assistant
- Location: Andover
- Start Date: ASAP
- Hours: Full-time, term-time
- Pay Rate:£14.66 - £15.66 per hour
- Contract: Long-term
- Experience with SEN or children preferred
- Safeguarding training can be provided
- Understanding of SEN strategies beneficial
- Right to work in the UK
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
- Two relevant references
