Job Description

Looking to make a real difference, every single day? This could be the role where you do exactly that.

We're working with a welcoming school in Brentwood that's on the lookout for a full-time SEN Learning Support Assistant. You'll be supporting pupils with additional needs, helping them feel safe, understood, and ready to learn, even on the trickier days.

If you're calm under pressure, big on empathy, and love seeing those small wins that mean everything, you'll fit right in here.

What you'll be doing:
  • Providing 1:1 or small group support for pupils with SEN
  • Helping students stay engaged, focused, and confident in the classroom
  • Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider support team
  • Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
  • Creating a structured, nurturing learning environment
What the school offers:
  • Supportive leadership team who genuinely have your back
  • A collaborative staff team, no "figure it out yourself" vibes here
  • Ongoing training and development opportunities
  • A setting where support staff are valued, not overlooked
What we're looking for:
  • Experience working with children or adults with SEN (school-based or similar)
  • A calm, patient, and positive approach
  • Strong communication skills and a team-first mindset
  • Someone who can build trust and consistency with pupils
  • A genuine passion for supporting young people
Why join Protocol Education?
  • Weekly pay through PAYE, no umbrella company hassle
  • FREE access to our CPD Academy, keep growing your skills
  • A dedicated consultant who actually listens to what you want
  • Opportunities across mainstream, SEND, and alternative settings
  • Easy, streamlined registration and local placements

This isn't just another classroom role. You'll be the steady presence, the calm voice, the person who helps pupils believe they can do it.

All applicants will require appropriate qualifications and training for this role. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position; in some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
