SEN Learning Support Assistant

Location: Bury, Greater Manchester. Contract: Full time, Monday to Friday, long-term.

We are currently working with a specialist secondary school in Bury seeking to appoint a full-time Learning Support Assistant to support pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism, communication difficulties and learning challenges.

The school is well-established and places a strong emphasis on consistency, routine and building positive relationships to support pupils both academically and emotionally.

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will be working closely with pupils throughout the school day, supporting them to access lessons and remain engaged in a structured environment.

• Providing targeted 1:1 support for pupils who require additional assistance
• Supporting small group activities within the classroom
• Assisting with lesson delivery and adapting resources where necessary
• Supporting pupils with emotional regulation and behaviour
• Encouraging independence and positive engagement

• Experience working with pupils with SEN or additional needs
• A calm, consistent and supportive approach
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to build effective working relationships
• Availability to work full time
