About the School

They are a vibrant, inclusive, and highly supportive specialist school catering with complex learning needs, including autism, developmental delays, and sensory processing differences. They pride themselves on providing a safe, play-based, and communication-rich environment where every child's unique abilities are nurtured. Skills Required

  • Adaptability & Creativity: The ability to design and adapt a play-based EYFS curriculum to suit pupils with complex and diverse learning profiles.

  • Communication Strategies: Experience using alternative communication methods such as PECS, Makaton, or visual timetables to support non-verbal or pre-verbal learners.

  • Positive Behaviour Management: A calm, nurturing, and patient approach, with experience in positive behaviour support and de-escalation strategies.

  • Collaboration: Strong teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with teaching assistants, parents, and multidisciplinary therapy teams.

Essential Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent UK-recognised teaching qualification.

  • Previous experience teaching within an SEN setting or working extensively with early years pupils with complex needs.

  • Full eligibility to work in the UK (please note, visa sponsorship is not available for this role).

  • An enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service, or a willingness to undergo a new check via Remedy
